According to several sources which informed All Things Digital, Apple will ultimately announce its upcoming second generation tablet, iPad 2, at an event based in San Francisco on March 2nd.
The successor of the most revolutionary tablet was likely to be unveiled in the coming weeks as many fans have anticipated. As the first iPad was launched last spring, many are surprised not to hear a word from Apple with regards to their next tablet.
Recently, there were reports that production for Apple iPad 2 might be delayed. Incidentally, Apple’s share price took a beating, losing more than 3 percent. Some might not believe that the cause of the hit is because of the analyst firm’s report on the delay or the unrest from Libya. Nevertheless, a lot of people will appreciate the long awaited announcement of iPad 2.
Apple products are known to get news and rumors before its release, with iPad 2 it is no exception. From the rumor mill, it is pretty evident that the new tablet will feature 2 cameras. It is likely to be slimmer and lighter than its predecessor and will probably run on the fresh dual-core A5 processor.
The resolution display for iPad 2 is still unknown as some people are hoping that the screen resolution will be higher than the original iPad while some insists that it will be the same 1024 by 768 pixel resolution.
It is unlikely that Apple will release another version of the tablet this year if they will keep their product cycle in check.
